This collection of poems was written in Edinburgh during the COVID-19 pandemic and resultant lockdowns. During this time I was living with my girlfriend, and our great escapes to the highlands filled our weekends and holidays with adventure and our quotidian days awaiting its call with eager anticipation.

They are each dedicated to Scotland's landscapes; the little known and undiscovered places. They tell a story of our journey of falling in love with the drama of those landscapes, the myths, legends and wistful histories of its mountains and glens.

I hope these poems bring to life the atmospheres of just some of these adventures, contained forever in memory: stunning mountaintop panoramas; deep, brooding glens; living, breathing forests.

In March 2022, we displayed these poems along with artwork created in dedication to the wild places in Scotland's highlands. The placard we displayed at the gallery's entrance is pasted below. All of the artwork, including the format of each poem, was designed by my girlfriend at the time. You can find her work here: https://www.sarazanigni.art
